A selection of real and 'alien' pseudo words containing either the /ee/ /ea/ or /e-e/ grapheme. Alien words have an image of alien to assist preparation for the Phonics Screening. Children can write on their sound buttons to help read the word. Also a powerpoint containing all the words to read as a whole class

How to observe a child training

(7)
Powerpoint presentation on how to Observe children in the Early Years. Designed mainly for classroom assistants, but could be tweaked to present to parents and other staff at school. Additional word document case study. Suggest staff go through the training, then look at any observations they have already completed, as well as complete a joint/paired observation, and then discuss what is exactly required.

EYFS Development Matters Tracker class record

(0)
Designed to sum up exactly which development band each child in a class falls into for each AoL. I specify in plain black if the child is working at their development band (lowest possible one if they overlap). 1 development band below written in bold red. 2+ development bands below written in bold blue. If working a development band above, then I change the font colour to bold green. A good quick at a glance assessment sheet for team meetings/discussions with EYFSCo/HT/Manager/OFSTED. I have also added percentage columns on the right hand side (formulas will need amending!)
EYFS Profile moderation record for ind children

EYFS Profile moderation record for ind children

(0)
A report to sum up the achieving profile scale points for each child. Useful to highlight teaching/learning areas of strength and weakness in the child. Also, section to mention any areas the child is not likely to achieve profile points due to SEN/EAL etc. Section for G&T/scale point 9s. I complete once a term to show child achievement, and then sum up in the class version. Useful to show EYFS Co if they want further details, without looking through the whole learning journey.

Ages and stages of ICT development in the EYFS

(1)
I was given this by our Early Years Support Team training on ICT as an activity. I have used with my team to focus in on levels of ICT development. From birth to 60+months. To look at the stages of ICT development and match to the appropriate age. Good for identifying whether a child is on track or not.

EYFS Profile moderation prompt for PPMs

(2)
Moderation prompt form for pupil progress meetings. Simple table ensuring that learning journeys are consistent, and analysis of percentage of progress made that term. Good progress of 78 points / average scale point of 6 per area of learning. Analysis of class make-up: SEN, G&T, EAL, LAC, FSM etc. Reasons for v high/low profile scores and any future CPD needs. Useful as a summary for the EYFS Co-ordinator when talking to SLT/HT/OFSTED/LA Profile Manager.
Learning Journey assessment

Learning Journey assessment

(13)
A PowerPoint designed to be reduced to 4 or 6 to a page and stuck into Learning Journey books for summative assessment. Characteristics of Effective Learning and Areas of Learning statements for Foundation Stage (EYFS 2012) children. I was inspired by a local EYFS teacher and their school's learning journeys to produce these. They will also be laminated and placed onto a ring to be carried by the staff during observations. I hope you find them useful xx
